LINCOLNVILLE — Rev. Benjamin Perry, minister at Middle Church in New York City and the author of Cry, Baby: Why Our Tears Matterwill be the guest speaker on Sunday, August 20, at the United Christian Church (UCC), located in Lincolnville Center. The service begins at 9:30 a.m. Children’s Church offering Godly Play meets in the adjacent Parish Hall.
Reverend Perry is an award-winning writer. His work has appeared in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, Slate, Vox, Sojourners and Religion News Service. He will be available following the service at a reception and book signing.
The United Christian Church is an open and affirming congregation. All are welcome. Rev. Elizabeth Barnum is the pastor. The church home is the historic Meeting House built in 1821. It is one of the few Maine
Meeting Houses which is an active, year round community church. It has the original boxed pews, ripple glass windows, upper pulpit and full balcony. The church is fully accessible.
