Canada’s Allysha Chapman’s frustration was on show throughout Monday’s 4-0 defeat to Australia, which eradicated the Canadian crew from the 2023 Ladies’s World Cup.
After a sturdy Sixty fourth-minute problem with Australia’s Hayley Raso, which left Raso on the bottom, on-pitch microphones recorded Canada’s Chapman as shouting:
“She fucking jumped into me, you twat.”
It’s unclear if Chapman’s ire was directed towards Australia coach Tony Gustavsson or French official Stephanie Frappart.
But it surely prompted BBC commentator Robyn Cowen to ask for forgiveness to viewers.
“Apologies there if any language was picked up on the very delicate pitch-side microphones it appears,” stated Cowen.
Australia received 4-0, with targets from Mary Fowler, Steph Catley and two from Raso. Australia advances to the knockout spherical.
