The Limestone Saints were one of the major success stories in South Carolina last season. After going 0-9 in 2021, the Saints brought back former coach Mike Furrey, who had been with the Chicago Bears and the improvement was immediate.
The Saints had a pair of four game winning streaks for the first winning season in school history. The made the D-2 Playoffs where they were defeated in the opening round by West Florida, but that didn’t take the shine off the season for Furrey and company.
Furrey has his quarterback, top running back and top receivers returning, and he made some defensive staff changes in an effort to improve on that side of the ball. The Saints will open their season August 31st at West Georgia.
